Donat has been taking care of digestion and well-being for 115 years

20.9.2023.

This year, the Donat brand is celebrating its 115 years of existence. On the occasion of this jubilee, the largest solar power plant of Atlantic Grupa has come to life on the roof of the bottling plant in Rogaška Slatina.

This represents one of the largest private investments in recent years in this area of Slovenia, through which Donat is further enhancing its existing sustainability efforts.

EVERY THIRD BOTTLE OF DONAT WILL BE FILLED WITH THE HELP OF THE SUN

The bottling plant in Rogaška Slatina has already been using green energy. However, the new solar power plant with a nominal installed capacity of 974 kWp will produce 1.01 GWh annually, which is enough to supply approximately 350 households or a small community. There will also be two charging stations for electric vehicles at the site, which will be powered by solar energy.

"Sustainability is an integral part of Atlantic Grupa's business strategy and has been a crucial component of our operations for over a decade. Decisions to utilize renewable energy sources and work towards reducing dependence on external factors during the uncertainty of recent years confirm that we are heading in the right direction, as they ensure a more stable and environmentally friendly energy future. Therefore, we have invested nearly 900,000 euros in building a solar power plant on the roof of our filling station in Rogaška Slatina, which is currently the largest within the Atlantic Grupa. With this facility, we will cover 31% of the location's full operational energy needs, thereby reducing our reliance on external energy sources, optimizing costs, and contributing to environmental protection. I am grateful that the government, which supports the economy through incentives in the field of energy, has also participated in our largest sustainabilty- focused project this year," said Enzo Smrekar, Vice President of Atlantic Grupa for Savory spreads, Donat, and international expansion at Atlantic Grupa, at the opening of the power plant.
