Grand opening of the new LDC in Skopje

Thanks to the continuous outstanding performance of the local team, the former distribution unit has now become the SDU North Macedonia.

Atlantic Grupa officially opened the new, modern distribution centre in Skopje, ensuring adequate logistic support for the long-term development of distribution. An approx. EUR 12 million investment in building and equipping the centre has been realised within 18 months in partnership with the company Vičiški. What makes the project interesting are its ambitions regarding the digitalisation of warehousing, so the new logistic distribution centre is also a testing ground for new technologies that have already been implemented or are in the process of implementation.

The new LDC in Skopje saw its grand opening last Sunday with a rich programme, while the especially ceremonious tone has been ensured by the special award for the local distribution team. Thanks to its continuous outstanding performance, dedication and strong ambitions for further business growth, the former distribution unit has been declared Strategic Distribution Unit North Macedonia. The celebration was opened by the host Perica Vičiški, General Director of Atlantic Trade Skopje. President Emil Tedeschi pointed out the importance of the project of opening the new distribution centre and commended the remarkable success of our organisation in North Macedonia. Numerous gathered employees of Atlantic Grupa, as well as our partners and guests, were then entertained by the famous musician Vlatko Stefanovski. After his performance, visitors could enjoy the diverse programme, prepared by two excellent bands.

The newly-developed building combines the entire warehousing capacities of Atlantic Grupa in the Skopje area, and it is a central logistics centre for the Macedonian market. The optimal location, taking into account all elements necessary for ensuring the project’s business sustainability (transport distance, costs, etc.), has been found in a very propulsive industrial zone of Ilinden in the surrounding area of Skopje. The first stage provides a warehousing capacity of 10,000 pallet spaces, and the modern high‑bay facility has the option of further expansion in accordance with business needs, which ensures long-term sustainability and support for further development of distribution.
